Block Parent Association and Calgary Police Service

Liaison
Retired Constable Gerry Bailey is CBPA's
Calgary Police Service Liaison Officer. Gerry is one
of CBPA's valued supporters and a very effective member of the
working team. CBPA looks forward to working with Gerry
and other members of the CPS Crime Prevention Unit in the years
to come.
Screening
- All applications are forwarded to Calgary Police Service
for screening.
- Rejection may occur for any criminal offence or history.
- Automatic rejection occurs for assault, use of weapons, drug
related offences, criminal activity involving children and
repeated offences involving alcohol abuse.
- This information will not be released to a third party under
any circumstances.
- Only approved applications are returned to CBPA.
- Calgary Block Parent Association retains the right to refuse
any application.
- The sign remains the property of CBPA and must be returned
on request.
- Applicants are automatically rescreened
every 2 years.
In the community
Police officers working in communities are asked to promote
Block Parent as a partner in Crime Prevention. In addition officers
are requested to advise CBPA of any situation that jeopardizes
the security of the BP sign.
School Programs - Community Liaison Officers
attend Block Parent school programs whenever possible to promote
the valuable partnership between police and volunteers. CLO
